Hi Ulka, thanks for your compliment on my article. Unfortunately, I haven’t come across any studies or much discussion about the problem with habituation and isochronic tones and how to overcome it. The consensus among experienced users is to regularly change the frequencies and music soundtracks you listen to. Adding music to the tones does change the waveform you are stimulated with, so that’s one of the main reasons why I provide different soundtracks for my isochronic tones sessions. I have released some tracks which use amplitude modulations in the music, instead of isochronic tones. It might be worth giving them a try if you haven’t already. Insomnia: Perhaps one of the most promising uses of brainwave entrainment technology is for those struggling with insomnia. While the technology is unlikely to provide a “cure” it may help those who have a high level of arousal or are “keyed-up” – reduce their level of internal arousal and sleep. Specifically insomnia that is induced by excess stress (e.g. beta activity) would likely benefit from slower wave stimulation (e.g. alpha activity) to aid the brain in transitioning into sleep.
Participating in this program requires that you use your Holosync® soundtracks (!)—which takes some time. Though you’re free to do less (and progress more slowly), we suggest that you start with a half hour of listening each day, progressing to an hour a day. No side effects have been reported from brain entrainment use.  Most producers of the technology warn against the use of brain entrainment by children under age 18, people with seizure disorders, and pregnant women.  Studies have not been conducted on these populations to date.  Additionally, (and this goes without saying) it is suggested that you do not drive while listening to brain entrainment due to the relaxing effect.

I have personally used Holosync, Neuroprogrammer 3, and now I'm currently using Brain Evolution System. They are all great programs within their own rights. Holosync is very pricey and takes many years to complete (6-10 yrs) for their 12 level program and has a hefty price tag of $3195 dollars for the complete set and it uses outdated binaural technology. Neuroprogrammer 3 doesn't have a set time limit for completion as you set your own pace and use whatever sessions you choose to use and you can get the ultimate version for under $100, but this isn't a program that you would use daily in most cases. It does use better technology ( binaural & isochronic ) but it more suited for specialized cases and can be used in conjunction with Holosync or BrainEv. I have just started using BrainEv and I am about to be into the second week. BrainEv uses state of the art binaural and isochronic technology and brings you through your states at a much rapid rate whereas Holosync focuses mainly on certain brain wave patterns during its sessions which could get your mind stuck in certain states because the brain gets used to the specific states it's been entrained to. Also, BrainEv takes just 6 months to complete and you can feel it working immediately. Holosync did do it's job but BrainEv takes the cake on this one due to the short duration of time it takes to complete and uses more advanced entrainment techniques that doesnt leave your mind in a static state. So I would difinately suggest using BrainEv ( first month is free; $299 for all 6 sets ) in conjunction with Neuroprogrammer 3 for more specialized brain training.

At the end of just two weeks of use (I was now into the Equisync II cds), I experienced for the first time ever, what my partner described as Nirvana. I experienced a complete dissolution of individual consciousness, felt at one with everything, and felt the deepest peace, love, and complete bliss I had ever, ever experienced in my life. Since you do all the research on this, you know what I’m describing. Unfortunately, language does not express it. I have never experienced mind altering drugs, but I recall watching a documentary of LSD research, and one of the subjects described the exact same “feelings” as I had when she had received a micro amount of LSD.
The brain will entrain to the strongest stimulus. If you combine binaural beats with isochronic tones, your brainwaves will entrain to the isochronic tones. If anything, when you combine the two I believe it makes the track less effective because it makes it harder for the brain to decipher between the two and synchronise to a single beat. There are lots of websites with compelling marketing about the benefits of combining the two together in some funky way, but I haven’t seen any research or lots of anecdotal feedback even to suggest it’s effective to combine them.
Neural oscillations are rhythmic or repetitive electrochemical activity in the brain and central nervous system. Such oscillations can be characterized by their frequency, amplitude and phase. Neural tissue can generate oscillatory activity driven by mechanisms within individual neurons, as well as by interactions between them. They may also adjust frequency to synchronize with the periodic vibration of external acoustic or visual stimuli.[3]
