While binaural beats are the most common technique we use for producing brainwave entrainment music, we do use other brainwave entrainment techniques such as isochronic tones, monaural beats and amplitude modulation. Depression: Currently there is no substantial evidence to support the idea that brainwave entrainment treats depression in adults. I’m sorry to hear you’re having these troubles. First off, I disagree with whoever told you it was a good idea to listen to 6 subliminals a day. I suppose I would need more context to better understand. Are these binaural beats or brainwave entrainment audios? If so you are definitely listening too much, and can harm yourself (just as the article mentions above from over-doing it). Even if they are not brainwave entrainment audios, I cannot imagine it is effective or the best idea to listen to so much so often. I would pick one subject that correlates to the most important goal for you and stick with it until you have achieved it. Remember to steer clear of that tempting idea of getting “all that you want for nothing”. Even subliminals are a tool. You still have to use the tool to do the work.

It may be that you had the volume too loud, but I would expect you to hear the effects of that straight after you’ve stopped listening, not on a day you haven’t used them. It might be something similar to muscle memory, where you suddenly remembered the sound and sensations it gives you as if you were hearing it again. I don’t know how long you’ve been using this type of thing for, but maybe it’s something that will settle down and disappear once you become more accustomed to the sound.

Additionally, most of the studies have been conducted with extremely small samples and the touted benefits are vague. When studying the effects, it would be beneficial to hook each participant up to an EEG, note initial brainwave activity, then post-entrainment, note any changes. Although certain conditions share similarities in brainwave activity, this is clearly not always the case.
Quick example: Brainwave readings (with an EEG machine) have shown that brainwaves of 2Hz occur when an individual is asleep.
