I have seen 1.5Hz being linked to HGH, but also 4 or 5 other frequencies as well, so it’s difficult to know what may work if any. I haven’t seen any research relating to HGH and brainwave entrainment. It’s widely believed that 40Hz is the limit for achieving a brainwave entrainment effect, which is also where many believe the gamma frequency range begins. Once you get over 40Hz into gamma your brainwave activity isn’t likely to stay in sync with it. So from a brainwave entrainment perspective, I recommend high beta frequencies for increasing energy during workouts.
In all professionally produced meditation programs, you train your brain gradually. That is how you successfully develop. Just like training the body, you progress gradually. This is the key. In BrainAscend you start with level 1. Each track is 30 minutes.  Use it once per day for 30 or 60 minutes at a time (once or twice in a row. Use repeat/loop function in your player) or twice per day for 30 minutes at a time. You should use every level for at least 2-3 months before moving to the next. The exception is level 1 which is an introductory level which you can use for a week or so. After that time, if you can repeatedly remain fully aware on your current level without falling asleep (even if playing it twice in a row) you can move on to the next level. Until then you should continue on your current level. Listen with closed eyes, either sitting up or laying down.

The important thing to address here is what have you been told that Brainwave Entrainment would do?  Depending on whose site you’ve landed on you may have been promised different things.  The promised benefits of this type of product are a long list, and more things are still being added to it.  You may have been told that brainwave entrainment would help you meditate deeper, and rocket launch your spiritual evolution from doing so.  You may have been told that it would help your brain release positive neuro chemicals and anti-aging hormones that would improve your health and help you feel more positive emotions, overcoming anxiety, and you also may have been told that listening to brainwave entrainment on a regular basis would help your brain evolve, building a higher threshold to mental and emotional input, growing neural pathways, and synchronising the two hemispheres of the brain.
While visual entrainment is more powerful than audio alone for inducing desired brainwave states, more caution is needed when using visual methods. Between 0.3 and 3 percent of the population is susceptible to having seizures from flickering light stimulation, and for other people, flickering visual stimuli simply makes them uncomfortable. People with epilepsy have a greater chance of having a seizure from exposure to flickering light stimulation.

Hi Amandeep. I am so sorry to hear you are having these troubles. I am not familiar with Marisa Peers materials, so I cannot comment on this, but I can tell you we have never had an experience like this reported from using the audios we offer on this site. I would cease any and all hypnosis or brainwave entrainment audios, and contact your doctor. The issues you are mentioning sound like they could be a physical issue that may be related to more than the audios you’ve listened to.
However, yoga and meditation take time to learn and master, and until the student becomes proficient, progress can be slow and frustrating, leading many people to abandon the effort before they see the benefits. Brainwave entrainment has the potential for helping a person enter the relaxing and rejuvenating mind-states brought about by yoga and meditation without the learning curve and time needed for mastering these other techniques. True on your point about diminishing returns. It is like dieting. The bulk of the weight comes off at the beginning and then you lose a pound or so if you are diligent. Yes you lose the high of the original gains but you don’t receive more gains because you are in a better place. I am a big believer in data. When the gains begin to be less obvious a daily entry of how your emotional state was (1-10) and naming something you are grateful for goes a long ways. Thanks for your appreciation of what I’m doing. I’ve been asked for help with autism a number of times over the years, so it’s something that I’ve often looked into and tried to find new information about. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to find any specific research relating to it and using the type of brainwave entrainment tones I use. There are a number of opinions and claims out here, but I’ve often found them to be conflicting. While some are recommending higher frequency gamma waves, others are recommending lower frequency alpha and theta waves while meditating.

Another general benefit of using brainwave entrainment in general is that it increases and promotes whole-brain functioning, meaning that the two hemispheres of the brain grow more connections and exchange information more easily. This can help more starkly rational people become more intuitive, and more airy-fairy people become more focused and logical.

For centuries, brainwave entrainment has been associated with a number of benefits. Of the range of brainwave states that exist there are four frequencies that are the focus of brainwave entrainment; each of these states has a different physiological effect and achieves a different result. Frequency of session varied from twice daily to weekly. Outcomes reported in the review included cognition (including verbal skills, performance skills, attention, memory and overall intelligence/achievement), short- and long-term stress, pain, headache/migraine, mood, behavioural problems and premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
